LEDs are not bulbs in the classic sense. They contain no filament and function differently from fluorescent lamps. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. To cut things short, this is an electronic component that directly emits light; the light colour depends on the semiconductor material used.

Where LED recently was restricted to small coloured lights in electronic devices, the LED technology is now so developed that it will replace filaments and will be the standard in home and garden lighting.

What is LED?

LED Durawise is the new LED battery-operated lighting that can be used both indoors and out. It does not need any cable. Plugs and extension cords are done away with. LED Durawise also has a timer function to allow the lighting to be switched on automatically for six hours a day.

With just a single button press, the light will be set to switch on at exactly the same moment each day for no less than 30 days! Ideal in all seasons — not least for cosiness around Christmas and New Year, or long summer evenings in the garden.
